The hotel sits in a quiet area away from Seawall tourist traffic, a two-minute walk from Schlitterbahn and a short drive to Moody Gardens. It is 1 km from Seawall Urban Park and 3 km from West Beach. The nearest airport is William P. Hobby, 66 km away. There is no airport or cruise shuttle, but rideshare services operate easily. The Strand historic district is a 15-20 minute drive. Several restaurants are within 2 km along the seawall. Covered parking is available.

Rooms feature air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee machine. Many are described as large and comfortable, with two sinks in some bathrooms. There are no balconies. Rooms in the newer detached building are noticeably nicer and better maintained than those in the older main building, which can feel dated and humid. Soundproofing between rooms is minimal. Some furnishings may be worn. Handicap-accessible rooms are available in the elevator-serviced tower. A room overlooking the mini-golf area can be requested.

Breakfast is a light continental offering of cereal, pastries, boiled eggs, and coffee. The selection is basic; no hot food or protein is provided, and availability earlier in the morning is best. The hotel has no restaurant, bar, or on-site dining. Vending machines with drinks and snacks are available. Numerous restaurants are within a short drive or rideshare distance along the seawall.

Free private parking is available on site with no reservation needed, but the lot is tight. Cruise parking costs $20 per week for those staying at least one night.
