SUPER 8 BY WYNDHAM GALVESTON, Galveston

The hotel sits one block north of the seawall, putting the beach and Gulf within a 3-minute walk. The immediate area has a Waffle House in the same parking lot, plus Popeyes, Taco Cabana, Waffle House, and a Randall's grocery store all within a 5-10 minute walk on foot. For cruisers, the terminal is approximately 6 km away - a taxi costs around $20, and the hotel does not offer cruise parking or shuttle. The entrance is via a one-way drive through the Waffle House lot, which can be easy to miss, especially from the seawall; arriving from the west is most straightforward. The property is also 6 km from Texas A&M University at Galveston and 4 km from Moody Gardens Golf Course.

The hotel provides breakfast to go each morning, consisting of coffee, tea, juice, and packaged muffins and cinnamon rolls. There is no cereal, toast, fruit, eggs, or hot food. The breakfast area is located in the lobby. A vending machine is on-site for snacks and drinks. For a hot meal, the Waffle House is in the same parking lot and walking distance to several fast-food restaurants (Popeyes, Taco Cabana, Oasis) within 0.3-0.5 km. A Randall's grocery store is a 10-minute walk, offering ingredients for a fuller breakfast if you prefer to prepare your own.

The outdoor swimming pool is open seasonally and provides a place to cool off, though the water can become very warm during peak summer months. A small outdoor lounge area with seating is adjacent. The Gulf beach is a 3-minute walk for sunbathing and swimming. Moody Gardens Golf Course is 4 km away. There are no on-site spa, fitness centre, or sauna facilities.

Free public parking is available on-site and requires a reservation - spaces can be limited and are especially tight for larger vehicles. There is no covered parking. WiFi is free in all rooms and generally reliable. The 24-hour front desk can assist with express check-in/check-out, luggage storage (check availability), and wake-up calls (a phone 'ding'). A guest laundry is available for use. The hotel accepts all major credit cards (American Express, Visa, MasterCard) and offers AAA and AARP discounts on request. Pets are not allowed; trained service animals are accepted. Accessibility features include a first-floor room option, wider doorways in accessible rooms, and roll-in showers, but no elevator is available.
