INTERNATIONAL HOTEL KABUKICHO, Tokyo

The hotel sits in the Kabukicho red-light district, placing you directly amid Shinjuku's nightlife, restaurants, and bars. Higashi Shinjuku Subway Station is a 5-minute walk, Shinjuku Sanchome Station a 6-minute walk, and JR Shinjuku Station is reachable in about 12 minutes on foot - offering direct rail access across Tokyo and a 60-minute train/bus route to Haneda Airport. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is 1 km away for a daytime escape. The area is lively and densely packed with dining options; several restaurants and fast-food stores are within a 5-minute walk.

Rooms offer a private bathroom with a bath and shower, free toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, electric kettle, and hairdryer. The rooms are noticeably spacious for the price, with enough floor space to open luggage comfortably. All rooms are designated for smoking; the cigarette smell is pervasive throughout the building and enters rooms through vents. There is no balcony, and windows are fixed and cannot be opened, limiting fresh air. The air conditioning unit is positioned awkwardly in some rooms. Bedding and towels are replaced daily as part of free housekeeping.

Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk staff are available to assist with check-in and queries; many speak English. Luggage storage is free and operationally useful before check-in or after check-out. Daily housekeeping is included and provides fresh towels and bedding. A vending machine for drinks is on site. No parking, airport shuttle, or restaurant are available. Pets are not allowed. Accepted payment cards include American Express, Visa, Diners Club, JCB, NICOS, UC, and MasterCard.
