ISAR CITY HOTEL, Munich

The hotel sits in a lively area with numerous restaurants, shops and 24-hour stores nearby, including late-night dining options. Main attractions such as Asamkirche (800 m), Sendlinger Tor (9 min walk), Frauenkirche (1 km), New Town Hall and Mariensäule (15 min walk) are all within easy walking distance. Public transport connections are excellent, with the tram stop outside and the S-Bahn providing a 40-minute link to the airport. While very central, the immediate neighbourhood is busy and can feel less safe at night, particularly for those arriving late. For airport transfers, the Central Station offers direct S-Bahn services as an alternative to the hotel's paid shuttle.

Room types include doubles, twins, triples, family rooms and suites. Family rooms can have connecting layouts or a sofa bed (140/200 cm). Most rooms overlook either a quiet inner courtyard or the street; courtyard-facing rooms offer a notably quieter stay. All rooms include a seating area, flat-screen TV, wardrobe, safe deposit box and free toiletries. Parquet flooring and soundproofing are standard, though noise from corridors and neighbouring rooms can still be an issue. Summer heat without air conditioning is a common drawback - rooms are equipped with desk fans but can become uncomfortably warm. Room sizes vary; some are described as spacious while others feel compact, particularly in the bathroom. The property is older and basic in style, but rooms are generally clean and functional, suitable for short stays where location and price are the priority.

The hotel does not offer a breakfast service, restaurant or bar. Guests planning a morning meal can find several independent cafés and bakeries nearby, including Schiller Brau and Oko Backerei Konditorei Mauerer Cafe, both 0.5 km away. For lunch and dinner, the surrounding streets are packed with dining options, particularly Turkish and Middle Eastern eateries such as Derya Restaurant and Sulaimania Restaurant. A supermarket is also within 50 metres for self-catering.

WiFi is complimentary throughout the hotel. A lift serves all floors. Luggage storage is available free of charge for early arrivals or late departures. Express check-in and check-out reduce waiting time. A concierge service is on hand, and the reception desk is staffed until 11 pm. There is a safety deposit box at reception, CCTV in common areas and key-card access for security. Meeting and banquet facilities are available for an additional charge, as is the airport shuttle (€100). Business services include fax and photocopying. On-site parking costs €15 per day and requires advance reservation; the car park has outdoor spaces for vehicles up to 2.5 m high and an underground area for vehicles under 2 m. Housekeeping is provided daily, though some rooms have experienced inconsistency in linen changes and cleanliness.
