The hostel sits on the northwest edge of Central Park, placing the park's running paths, zoo, and reservoirs immediately accessible. The 103rd Street C train station is three blocks away, connecting directly to Times Square, the Theater District, and the Financial District. The Upper West Side and Upper East Side dining and shopping are within a 10-minute walk. The neighbourhood is quieter than downtown but still central enough for city exploration. Several restaurants, delis, and supermarkets are within 0.3-0.5 km, including Lura Restaurant Lounge, Park West Cafe, and Doaba Deli. The hostel is about 30 minutes by subway from JFK or LaGuardia airports.

Rooms range from 4- to 8-bed dorms to private singles/twins. Each bed includes a thin mattress, one sheet, a flat sheet, and a small locker (bring your own padlock). There are no shelves, nightlights, or power outlets by the bed, so a headlamp and power bank are useful. Heating and air conditioning are controlled by a single wall unit that can be noisy and hard to regulate - windows often need to be opened to adjust temperature. Room doors are heavy and slam loudly. Hallway noise and sound from neighbouring rooms carry easily. Shared bathrooms are divided by gender; on some floors the women's bathroom is on a different level. Stalls have no internal lock and limited shelf space. Hot water can be inconsistent. Towels are not provided. The property has no elevator, and rooms are spread over five floors. Cleanliness in bathrooms and common areas is variable and housekeeping does not service rooms during stays.

The hostel offers a simple self-service breakfast of bagels, jam, butter, coffee, and tea in the common area. There is no hot breakfast, cereal, or fruit. No cooking facilities or utensils are provided for guest use, so buying food from nearby shops is necessary for any meal preparation. Vending machines on site offer snacks and drinks but are not always reliably stocked. Surrounding the hostel are several restaurants and delis within a 3- to 5-minute walk - including Lura Restaurant Lounge, Park West Cafe, Crepes on Columbus, and Zanny's Cafe - offering a range of cuisines for lunch and dinner.

The hostel dedicates its ground floor to a bar/lounge area with seating, a television, and a game room with table football. This is where most socialising and events take place. On Sundays, a stand-up comedy show is held in the common area (open to all guests). There is no pool, gym, spa, or fitness facility. The immediate neighbourhood is residential and quiet, but Central Park's trails, sports fields, and skating rinks are half a block away for outdoor leisure.

Wi-Fi is free and works reliably in the lobby, bar, and game room; signal strength drops on upper floors and in some bedrooms. The 24-hour front desk can provide maps, directions, and check-in at any hour. Laundry facilities (coin-operated) are available for guest use. Luggage storage costs $5 after checkout; late checkout (past 11:00) incurs a $15 fee. Vending machines sell snacks and drinks but may sometimes be out of order. The property is non-smoking throughout. There is no elevator - all floors are walk-up. No on-site parking is offered. Accessible rooms or ramps are not available. The building is not easy to spot from the street as there is no prominent sign.
