Le Flâneur Guesthouse is located in the Guillotière district, a lively area with bars, cafés, and shops within 100 metres of the property. The metro station Saxe-Gambetta connects directly to the historic centre and main train station. Saint-Joseph-Saint-Luc Hospital is a 10-minute walk, and Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is 25-30 km away (no airport shuttle). While the area offers excellent transport links and dining variety, some streets are quieter after dark; sticking to well-lit main routes is advisable for those returning late. Free bicycle storage is available in the interior courtyard.

The guesthouse offers single-sex and mixed dormitories. Beds are fitted with a secure under-bed locker (bring a padlock or rent one for a 5€ deposit), a wall socket, and an individual reading light. Rooms are on the ground floor facing the street; double-glazed windows provide good sound insulation from outside noise. The metal bunk beds are comfortable but can transmit movement from upper bunks, which may disturb light sleepers - lower bunks are recommended for those sensitive to motion. No bed curtains or private bathrooms are available; bathrooms are shared between dormitories. Towels are not included (rental 1€). The rooms are air-conditioned and have a washbasin in some configurations. Storage lockers under the bed are large enough for backpacks. Daily housekeeping is provided.

Breakfast is included and offers bread, jam, cereal, milk, coffee, and juice - a simple continental spread. For those wanting a more substantial meal, the shared kitchen is available with cookware, utensils, and a refrigerator. The property does not have a restaurant, but its own bar serves wine/champagne and snacks, and there is a coffee house on site. Numerous restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including La Table de Max, Sept Epices, and Creperie Caramel Sale (all 0.5 km). The snack bar and minimarket provide additional grab-and-go options.

Le Flâneur organises a diverse programme of free evening entertainment: live music/performances, karaoke, live sport event broadcasts, movie nights, and temporary art galleries. Walking tours are also available. During the day, guests can use the sun terrace, garden, and outdoor furniture, as well as the shared lounge with board games, books, and video games. Two computers with free internet access are provided. There is no swimming pool or spa on site. The activities create a sociable atmosphere, particularly suitable for solo travellers looking to connect with others.
