LOCANDA DEI POETI ROOMS & APARTMENTS, Florence

The B&B is 400 metres from Fortezza da Basso, 500 metres from the Convent of San Marco, and 600 metres from Santa Maria Novella. Florence's Amerigo Vespucci Airport is 7 km away. The location is exceptionally walkable (score 9.4) - major sites, the central market, and dozens of restaurants and cafés are all reachable on foot within 10-15 minutes. The area is also well served by bus stops and within a 10-minute walk of the main train station, making the property suitable for car-free travellers. Street noise is notable on the busier roads, so rooms away from the main thoroughfare are quieter.

Rooms are available as single, double, or triple configurations, while apartments offer one or two separate bedrooms with a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. All units are air-conditioned and feature a flat-screen TV, heating, and a safe deposit box. Some rooms open onto a central light well, so requesting a room with an external window is advisable. The apartments are generally spacious and include a washing machine. Street-facing rooms can experience significant noise, and the building's older construction means limited sound insulation between units. Bed sizes vary - the single bed is notably narrow - and basic cleanliness has been noted, with some reports of dusty filters and floors that do not feel freshly cleaned. Apartments are located on different floors, with some having a lift and others only stairs; confirm access before booking.

There is no restaurant, bar, or breakfast service on site. However, a shared kitchen with a refrigerator, stovetop, electric kettle, and tea/coffee making facilities is available for guest use. The immediate area is dense with dining options - trattorias, cafés, and restaurants are within 300 metres, including Trattoria La Gratella and Osteria I Brincello. The central market (Mercato Centrale) is a short walk away, offering a wide variety of food stalls. The property does not provide complimentary water or daily replenishment of toiletries, so guests planning to cook or have meals in should bring their own supplies.

Full body massage can be booked for a surcharge, and both bike and walking tours are offered as paid activities. No swimming pool, spa, wellness centre, or gym is present on site. The property's central location means most of Florence's cultural attractions, parks, and recreational areas are easily reached on foot.

Wi-Fi is complimentary in all areas. Luggage storage is offered both before check-in and after check-out, using a code or leaving bags in a common area. Check-in is self-service from 15:00 to 20:00 using a code, and check-out is until 10:30. Private check-in/out is available. Pets are allowed on request with possible extra charges. The property is non-smoking and does not have a lift in the B&B section - rooms are on the first and second floors. A minimarket is present on site for basic supplies. Payment can be made with Visa, Maestro, CartaSi, or MasterCard. No daily room servicing or towel changes are included; an extra cleaning fee applies.
