MOTEL 6-SAN DIEGO, CA - DOWNTOWN, San Diego

The motel is a 10-minute walk from the Gaslamp Quarter and a short walk to Little Italy, the Santa Fe Depot train station, and the trolley stop. San Diego International Airport and the San Diego Zoo are 5 km away. SeaWorld is a 10-minute drive, and the Convention Center is 4 minutes away by car. The area is walkable for daytime activities, but some nearby streets have a significant homeless presence, making the area feel less safe after dark. The trolley station provides a practical car-free option for reaching downtown sites and the airport, though the area immediately around the motel is less inviting for evening strolls.

All rooms offer air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a desk, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The motel has one elevator. Standard rooms are functional and minimal, with no fridge, microwave, balcony, or hairdryer. Premium rooms add a mini-fridge, iron/ironing board, shampoo, conditioner, and coffee maker for an extra cost. Only rooms with one bed are available. The rooms are generally small, and some have limited ventilation. Some rooms have been renovated and offer a clean, tidy space, though overall cleanliness standards vary. Road-facing and lower-floor rooms can be noisy from street traffic and hallway activity.

There is no restaurant or breakfast service. Free coffee is provided in the lobby in the mornings. A snack vending machine is available. The surrounding streets offer numerous dining options within a 5-10 minute walk, including a pizza bar, noodle bar, several cafes, and a variety of cuisines in Little Italy. The trolley stop is a short walk from the motel, providing quick access to restaurants in the downtown core and Gaslamp Quarter.

Wi-Fi is free in public areas. A 24-hour front desk provides check-in flexibility (until 3:00 AM). Parking costs US$20 per night and is on site but limited; it is first-come, first-served with no reservation. The property accepts cash, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay. Pets are allowed with no extra charges. A launderette is on site. The front desk can store luggage after checkout. Wheelchair-accessible rooms and accessible parking are available. The motel has one elevator. AARP and military rates are offered. Note that housekeeping services, including towel replacement, are not automatic and must be requested at the desk.
