HOSTEL SPACE CAPSULE, Madrid

The hostel sits in the Usera neighbourhood, 4 km from Puerta de Atocha and 4 km from the Reina Sofia Museum. The nearest metro station is within a 3-minute walk on lines 3 and 6, making it straightforward to reach the city centre, Sol, and other landmarks. Palacio Vistalegre is easily accessible. The area is a vibrant Chinatown with many Chinese restaurants and shops, as well as a large supermarket nearby. However, the neighbourhood is not considered a high-end area and quieter at night; travellers on foot should be aware that the immediate streets are not the most polished part of Madrid. The hostel is also close to bus stops and a park along the river.

Rooms are configured as capsules made of hollow plastic. Each capsule includes a mattress, pillow, reading light, USB ports and a lockable door for security. The air conditioning in the room is shared, but each capsule has its own ventilation fans, which can be noisy. For travellers on a budget, the capsule offers more privacy than a traditional bunk, but it is not sound-proof - movement in any nearby capsule, especially above you in a double-deck configuration, creates noticeable noise and creaking. The capsules themselves are functional but compact; there is no floor space for luggage, so bags must go inside the capsule or in the provided lockers. Some travellers recommend bringing earplugs if noise is a concern. Heating is available, but reports indicate it can be insufficient on cold days.

The hostel provides a shared kitchen that includes an induction hob, microwave, fridge with freezer, electric kettle, and a coffee machine. There is a dining counter with a few bar stools, suitable for quick meals, but there is no dedicated dining table or lounge area for longer gatherings.
