The hotel is 4 blocks from Playa del Carmen Beach and 3 blocks from the shops, restaurants, and nightlife of 5th Avenue. The Playa del Carmen Bus Station is also 3 blocks away, and the alternative ADO bus station is within a short walk, making arrivals and departures easy. Xcaret Eco Park is a 15-minute drive, and Cancun International Airport is 45 minutes away. The location is a strong fit for travellers who want to be in the heart of the action but outside the loudest party zones, and the nearby municipal square can host music events that may be audible from some rooms.

Rooms are bright and functional, featuring air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with Netflix access, a safe, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, a wardrobe, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and free toiletries. Some rooms also include a small bar area with a chair, though it is not designed for extended sitting. Room sizes vary: first-floor rooms are generally more spacious than ground-floor rooms. Practical experience notes that some units have issues with humidity, mould, ageing mattresses, weak shower pressure, and poor soundproofing, particularly for road-facing or ground-floor rooms. Upper-floor rooms are quieter and more comfortable. A safety deposit box is available, and daily housekeeping is provided.

Hotel Nautilus does not have a restaurant and does not serve breakfast. The reception area sometimes provides complimentary coffee, and a water dispenser is available. Within a short walk, there are numerous dining options including Cafe Andrade, Das Brot, Tiny Tiki Hut, El Tapas & Company, and La Parota Cocina de Barrio, all about 0.5 km away, plus a Walmart within a 5-minute walk for self-catering supplies.

The outdoor swimming pool is a compact, clean facility with a shallow end and sun loungers, open every day from 09:00 to 20:30. It is suitable for a refreshing dip but not for serious swimming. There is no spa or wellness centre on site.
