The location is exceptional for both daytime exploring and nightlife, with the beach a short walk away, and 5th Avenue lined with bars, restaurants, and shops. The ADO bus station is about 15 minutes on foot, and the ferry to Cozumel is roughly a 15-minute walk. Noise from nearby clubs carries into the building, particularly on weekends, but rooms facing away from the street are quieter. A 15-minute walk also reaches the Cozumel ferry terminal. The city centre location means most attractions and services are within easy walking distance, and the area feels safe to walk in at night.

Dormitory rooms vary from 6-bed to 18-bed configurations, but many larger rooms have only one bathroom for all occupants, which can create wait times. The dorm layout places a kitchen inside the room, separated by a door; cooking smells and noise from the kitchen can be an issue. A female-only dorm is available. Beds are metal-spring with privacy curtains, and each has a personal locker, reading light, and USB chargers. Lower bunks are more spacious for sitting up. The 18-bed room has a sliding door that is noisy when opened. Private studios feature a kitchen with stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, and dining area, plus a private bathroom. Some rooms have a balcony. The older building means some rooms look tired; the condition and photography may not match recent updates.

Breakfast is included in the rate and served 08:00-10:00. Two options are typically available: a plate of scrambled eggs with toast, or a bowl of yogurt with granola and fruit. Coffee and water are available. The offering is small in portion and variety, and on busy days ingredients such as eggs may run out close to 09:30. Breakfast is prepared by the hostel cook and served on the rooftop terrace. Guests must wash their own dishes. Several restaurants and taco spots are within a 5-minute walk along 5th Avenue. On-site evening bar serves cocktails and bar food.
