Town Hall Station, directly across the road, provides trains and buses to Bondi Beach, the SCG, and ANZ Stadium. The historic Rocks, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Opera House are a 15-minute bus ride away. Numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants are within a 2-minute walk, and Chinatown is 300 metres away. The property is well-connected by light rail to Circular Quay. No on-site parking exists, but paid commercial car parks are available nearby.

Dorm rooms range from 4 to 10 beds, with mixed and female-only options. Beds are first-come, first-served and not pre-assigned. Private rooms include TVs; dorm rooms do not. All rooms feature bed linen, individual lockers, Tipi App bluetooth access, and free Wi-Fi. Some deluxe dorms have privacy curtains, USB charging ports, and individual lights. Noise from the street and the on-site bar can be significant, particularly in lower-floor or road-facing rooms. Double and king rooms with ensuite offer a private bathroom; shared bathrooms serve multiple private rooms. Rooms with windows that do not open have been noted, and some private rooms are compact. No rooms have balconies.

The on-site Scary Canary bar offers a lunch menu, and at night features drink specials, DJs, silent discos, beer pong, bingo, trivia, and pub crawls. Residents receive a discount on food and enjoy $7 happy-hour drinks. A shared kitchen with kettles, microwaves, and cutlery is available for self-catering. A vending machine sells drinks and snacks. Over 20 restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including international cuisines.

The Scary Canary bar is the social hub, hosting live music, live sport broadcasts, and nightclub/DJ events. A games room and board games/puzzles are available. Snorkelling is offered off-site. The property does not have a spa or swimming pool.

The 24-hour reception offers express check-in/out and tour desk assistance. Luggage storage is free for early arrivals and after check-out. Lockers in rooms require your own padlock, which can be purchased at reception for $6. Daily housekeeping is free; laundry and ironing are available at an additional charge. The on-site business centre and fax/photocopying are available at an additional cost. The elevator is currently out of order; staff can assist with luggage on the four-level building. No airport shuttle service is available.
