The neighbourhood is considered safe and is popular with university students due to its proximity to Concordia University.

The building is older and has been renovated, but several rooms show signs of wear - creaky beds, small bathroom dimensions, limited storage and cramped floor plans in the lower categories. Mattresses range from firmer to very soft depending on the individual unit, and the lack of soundproofing between floors means noise from neighbours can be audible.
