QUALITY INN & SUITES HERITAGE PARK, Kissimmee

The hotel sits off Vine Street, near the Florida Turnpike (Exit 244), directly across from a U-Haul and behind an abandoned building. It is an easy 2 km walk to Osceola Heritage Park (the walk takes about 10-15 minutes), making it a popular choice for events at the Silver Spurs Arena and Mecum Auctions. The immediate surroundings are functional - with a Burger King and Punta Cana Restaurant within 0.5 km - but the street-level parking lot and business-heavy area mean that walking around after dusk is not recommended. For theme parks, driving is necessary; local ride-shares can take over 10 minutes to arrive. The hotel offers accessible parking and can accommodate large vehicles and trailers.

Guest rooms come in double and family configurations, each with a private bathroom featuring a walk-in shower, bath, and free toiletries. Floor plans are generous - often described as large - with modern additions like flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and refrigerators. The beds are consistently noted as very comfortable, and the rooms are effectively soundproofed from corridor noise. However, the property shows its age; hallway carpets appear worn, and some rooms have older furniture, subtle musty smells, or below-par mattress support. For a quieter and more comfortable experience, request a room in the main building (ground floor) - this also helps with baggage handling, as there is no elevator. Windows do not open in most rooms, though air conditioning is standard. Lighting and power may occasionally be touchy, so power adapters are recommended.

Breakfast is included and more substantial than a typical grab-and-go: hot items include scrambled eggs or hard-boiled eggs, sausage links, self-serve waffle makers, and a selection of breads, yogurt, bananas, and oranges. Coffee (available in three strengths), tea, and juices (apple, orange, cranberry) are on offer. The breakfast attendant keeps the area clean and well-stocked. No restaurant is on-site, but a vending machine sells snacks and drinks. Several dining options are within walking distance, including an Italian restaurant (DiCarlos) and fast-food outlets - a plus for those without a vehicle.

Practical facilities include free Wi-Fi (though setup can be tricky - ask the front desk for the correct direct connection method), free on-site parking (no reservation needed, with accessible and large-vehicle-friendly spaces), and a 24-hour front desk. Daily housekeeping is included, but it may need to be requested if service is not automatically provided every day. Laundry service is available for an extra charge. The business centre is free to use, and meeting/banquet facilities and fax/photocopying are available for a fee. Security features include CCTV, smoke alarms, and key card access. The property has a lift, and disabled-accessible rooms (King) are on the ground floor, though there is no elevator to the second floor.
