R&B HOTEL, Berlin

The hotel sits in a mixed-use industrial zone between a busy road and a railway line, about 8 km from Alexanderplatz and 10 km from Berlin Cathedral, TV Tower, and Pergamon Museum. Berlin Brandenburg Airport is 22 km away. Two tram stops and an S-Bahn station are within a 2-minute walk, providing direct routes to the city centre, and several supermarkets are within walking distance. The immediate surroundings include a construction site and some auto-repair businesses, and the area can feel intimidating after dark owing to groups gathering in the parking lot. For car users, the free on-site parking is a clear advantage, but those relying on public transport will find the rail connection efficient.

Accommodation consists of private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, all with their own shower and toilet. Many rooms include a refrigerator, and bed configurations vary from a double bed to a twin or a double with bunk beds. Settle for a functional, no-frills space: rooms are compact, with thin walls that carry noise from corridors, neighbouring rooms, and the road. Some units have good double-glazing that blocks traffic sound when closed, but others remain noisy. The beds are generally comfortable, but mattress quality is mixed. Common cleanliness reports include dusty floors, dirty bathrooms, and occasional stains on bedding. There is no air conditioning - rooms warm up in summer, and west-facing rooms receive direct afternoon sun. No soap, shampoo, or toilet paper is provided in the room. For a budget-conscious traveller who just needs a bed and shower, this may suffice, but those sensitive to noise, heat, or hygiene should consider another option.

There is no dining facility at the hotel. Guests must plan all meals outside the property. A bakery within a 7-minute walk is the closest breakfast option, while a few restaurants are reachable by a short bus or tram ride. Two supermarkets within easy walking distance sell drinks, snacks, and basic groceries for self-catering. The room refrigerators are useful for storing bought food. No restaurants or cafes are within immediate sight, so eating out requires a short trip.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, though connectivity can be unreliable. Free on-site private parking is available without reservation, a major convenience in Berlin. The 24-hour front desk is staffed in person from 15:00 to 23:00; outside those hours the night janitor handles check-ins via a posted phone number. Luggage storage is available at the reception for early arrivals or late departures. Linen and towels are provided, but hair dryers, irons, and ironing boards are not available. Pets are allowed, and there is no extra charge for cats provided they remain in their carrier outside the room. The hotel has non-smoking rooms. An elevator is available in the adjacent building. The overall standard of cleaning and maintenance varies, and daily housekeeping does not occur.
