RUBY SOFIE HOTEL VIENNA BY IHG, Vienna

The hotel is on a quiet street in Vienna's third district, within walking distance of Hundertwasserhaus and the Prater. Wien Mitte station connects to U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and the City Airport Train (CAT) reaching the airport in 16 minutes. Numerous restaurants are within 0.5 km, including Das Kimchi, Sofienwirt, and Taste of India. The city centre is a pleasant 15-minute walk, and public transport makes Schönbrunn Palace easily accessible.

Room sizes vary; some are compact with an open-plan layout where the sink is in the room and the shower and toilet are in glass enclosures. There is no wardrobe - just 4 hangers on a wall. Rooms have a laptop safe, hair dryer, and soundproofing, but no fridge or kettle. Free tea and coffee are available from shared stations on each floor. Rooms away from the event hall are quieter, while those facing the road may experience street noise. Some rooms have limited views facing a wall. The bed is comfortable with two duvets.

The breakfast buffet includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, and some hot items, with gluten-free bread available. The breakfast area shares the lobby and bar space, which some find dark and compact. For a lighter meal, the bar serves a snack menu and pizzas in the evening. Vending machines on each floor offer drinks and snacks. Several restaurants, including an Indian restaurant next door and Sofienwirt, are within a short walk for lunch or dinner.

Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out, luggage storage, and can arrange taxis. Daily housekeeping is provided; opting out earns a free drink at the bar. Security features include safety deposit boxes, key card access, and CCTV. Public parking in a garage directly below the hotel costs €8 per day (no reservation). Bicycle rental is available for an additional fee. The hotel is non-smoking throughout and has facilities for disabled guests, including a lift.
