While the hotel is near several freeways, rooms on the freeway-facing side can experience noticeable traffic noise - rooms on the opposite side are quieter. The beach is a 15-20-minute drive, and the University of San Diego and San Diego State are about 15 minutes away depending on traffic. Parking on site costs US$38 per night, and the area is more practical with a car or trolley than on foot for many attractions.

Each air-conditioned room is decorated in soothing beige tones and includes a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a safe, a mini-fridge, and a tea and coffee maker. The private bathrooms are designed with walk-in showers and free toiletries; all have been renovated to stand-in showers only with no bathtubs - the shower doors may not close completely, causing some water on the floor.
