SLEEP IN HEAVEN, Copenhagen

The hostel is set in the lively Nørrebro area, known for its independent cafes, restaurants, and nightlife. It is a 4-minute walk from the Griffenfeldtsgade bus stop and 10 minutes from Forum Metro station, providing good public transport links to the city centre and airport. The city's main attractions are within a 15-20 minute walk or a short bike ride. The location is walkable for sightseeing without luggage; with heavy bags, the 2 km from Central Station is less convenient. The neighbourhood is dense with restaurants, bars, and a supermarket nearby. Some parts of the surrounding area are active late into the night, which may affect sleep in rooms facing the street.

Sleep in Heaven offers 4-bed, 6-bed, and larger dormitories (some women-only), plus private rooms with a double bed or three single beds. All rooms use shared bathroom facilities in the hallway. Bed linen is provided; towels are included in private rooms but cost extra in dorms. Personal keycard-operated lockers (80x35x55 cm) are attached to each bed. Some dormitory rooms are located in a separate building a minute from the main reception. Noise from adjoining rooms, corridors, and outside (especially courtyard-facing rooms near restaurant back doors) is a known concern. The metal bunk beds can creak, and mattresses are firm. Road-facing rooms may be less suitable for light sleepers. No air conditioning; heating is available. Windows open for ventilation but lack blackout curtains.

The hostel does not have a full restaurant. Breakfast is available for an additional charge (50 DKK) and includes a choice of coffee or tea, a glass of orange or apple juice, and either a croissant or muesli with yoghurt. It can be purchased at check-in or the day before. The on-site bar offers a happy hour daily, with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, wine, champagne, and a snack bar with fruit. The neighbourhood is filled with a wide variety of restaurants, pizzerias, and cafes within a short walk, including Pico Pizza and Scarpetta at 0.5 km.

The hostel's leisure options focus on its social common spaces. There is a beer garden with outdoor furniture, a welcoming common room with a pool table, board games, and a relaxed bar. Free walking tours and city maps are offered to help guests explore Copenhagen. Bicycle rental is available at the reception for 120 DKK per 24 hours, providing an efficient way to see the city. There is no swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre on the property.

The hostel is open 24 hours, with staffed reception until 1 AM, and self-check-in available after that with advance notice. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the building. Personal lockers in each room are free, opened by a keycard given at check-in. Luggage storage is free on arrival day, and costs 20 DKK per bag after check-out (must be collected the same day before midnight). Bicycle rental (120 DKK/24h) and walking tours are arranged at reception. Debit and credit cards are accepted. Housekeeping is not automatic; guests are expected to manage their own space. Smoking is not permitted inside, but there is a designated outdoor smoking area.
