The hotel sits on a relatively quiet street steps from warehouses turned into galleries and restaurants. Louisiana Superdome and Smoothie King Center are about 2 km away. The Union Passenger Terminal is 2 km from the hotel. Streetcars on Canal and St. Charles are a 10-minute walk, making car-free travel to the French Quarter, Garden District, and City Park easy. The French Quarter and Bourbon Street are a 15-28-minute walk, and the cruise port is a 2-minute drive. The immediate area offers many well-regarded dining options within a block, from Cochon to Emeril's. The neighborhood is generally safe and walkable during the day, though the immediate block can feel quiet at night.

Each suite includes a microwave, mini-fridge (not suitable for raw food storage; operates as a beverage cooler), wet bar, tea and coffee maker, cable TV with streaming services, and carpeted floors. Bedding varies: some rooms have two queen beds, others have a king bed and a sofa bed. A small number of rooms have a balcony (not private). The rooms are on the smaller side but functional for two people; the bed can be tight between the end of the bed and the wall. Soundproofing is adequate for typical noise, but road-facing rooms and those on lower floors near the front may pick up street and nightclub bass. Light sleepers should request a higher floor away from the street. Windowless rooms and ground-floor rooms with street-facing windows exist; specify preferences at booking. Air conditioning is individually controlled; cooling can be effective but some units near the bed can be loud. Closet and storage space is limited.

The breakfast buffet runs from 6:30-9:00 AM on weekdays and 7:00-10:00 AM on weekends. It includes scrambled eggs, sausage (pork or turkey), biscuits, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, and fresh fruit. Coffee is free in rooms and the lobby. The breakfast area can become busy during peak hours. There is no on-site restaurant or bar for other meals; the hotel does not offer room service beyond the breakfast period. The surrounding Arts District is well supplied with restaurants within a 5-10-minute walk, including Cochon, Emeril's, and Butcher.
