STANLEY HOUSE HOTEL, London

The hotel sits on Belgrave Road in the heart of Westminster, offering easy access to many of London's main attractions. Victoria Station, reachable within 5-10 minutes on foot, provides underground, mainline train, bus, and coach services, making airport transfers and city-wide travel straightforward. Buckingham Palace is a 17-minute walk, while Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament are within a 20- to 25-minute stroll. Hyde Park is also close by. The surrounding area is packed with restaurants, pubs, cafes, and shops, with many eateries located within a 2-minute walk of the hotel. A quiet street setting helps reduce noise, though the road-facing side of the building can be busier.

The hotel offers single, double, twin, triple, and family rooms, plus a suite with three beds. All rooms feature a wardrobe, carpeted floor, and heating. Room size varies widely - some are described as spacious, particularly the suite and some family rooms, while others are compact, especially the bathrooms. Some bathrooms are notably small, making it difficult to close the door while using the toilet or to shower without wetting the floor. A portion of rooms have been recently refurbished with modern furniture, but older rooms may show wear, including peeling wallpaper, worn carpets, and signs of damp. Not all rooms have a kettle, so check availability. Upper-floor rooms require climbing multiple flights of stairs. Some rooms share a balcony, though the hotel does not offer private balcony rooms. Road-facing rooms can experience traffic noise if windows are open.

Breakfast is served in the basement dining room and includes a choice of fried or scrambled eggs, baked beans, a sausage, and toast. Cereal, butter, jam, and a selection of hot drinks are also available, plus a free vending machine offering drinks like vegetable soup. The cooked breakfast is freshly prepared, though the choice is limited and the surroundings are basic. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but many cafes and restaurants are within a short walk, including Pimlico Fresh, Tozi Restaurant & Bar, and Cafe Mignon, all within 0.5 km.

The hotel does not offer a spa, wellness centre, swimming pool, or fitness area. Leisure activities are centred on exploring central London, with Hyde Park within walking distance for outdoor recreation.
