The hotel sits on a quiet residential street in the affluent Kensington and Chelsea district. Gloucester Road station is just 5 minutes away, offering Piccadilly, District and Circle lines - a direct route to Heathrow, Westminster (20 minutes) and the West End. World-famous museums (Natural History, Science, V&A) are within 10 minutes on foot. Harrods is a 20-minute walk. The area has numerous restaurants, bars and pubs within a 5-10 minute walk. Parking is not available on site; nearby public car parks cost around £60 per day. The neighbourhood feels safe even at night and is well-served by buses.

Rooms are compact - many visitors find them very small, with the double bed often pushed against one wall. Single, double, twin, triple, quadruple and family room configurations exist. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a shower, free toiletries, and most have heating and a TV. Only the Quad Deluxe room has air conditioning; a small desk fan is provided in other rooms. Tea and coffee making facilities are not in the rooms - they are available in the central communal kitchen on the lower ground floor. A small fridge is in the kitchen, and some rooms have a drinks fridge. Thin walls mean noise from neighbouring rooms and corridors can be audible - light sleepers may want to request a quieter room. Breakfast is included in the rate, but the hotel currently books 'room only' due to supply chain issues - they still serve breakfast but cannot guarantee all ingredients. The cooked English breakfast typically includes bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans. The continental spread offers fruits, pastries, juices, and coffee/tea. Breakfast quality is reported as variable - often served on cold plates and with some ingredients not fresh. Those wanting a more consistent or later morning meal can find numerous cafés and restaurants within a 5-minute walk. The communal kitchen is available for preparing snacks, with a microwave and fridge; use is allowed until 21:00.

There is no spa, swimming pool or fitness centre at St Simeon. Leisure facilities are limited to a shared communal lounge/TV room and the dining area.
