Erskineville station is a 4-minute walk, providing direct trains to Central (3.9km) and the city. The hotel sits 6km from Kingsford Smith Airport and about 7km from the cruise terminal; airport transfers can be arranged at the guest's expense. Newtown's restaurants and bars are within walking distance, and for longer trips the station puts the CBD and Sydney Opera House (13km) within easy reach. Parking is limited to an adjacent public lot and some free streets nearby, so the area is better explored on foot or by train. The leafy Erskineville community offers cafés, bars and a Woolworths within a short walk.

Accommodation is located on the upper level (two flights of stairs, no lift). Room types include Double, Spacious Double, Family Room (queen + two singles) and Superior Queen Room (private toilet, wash basin, but shower remains shared). All rooms have air conditioning and a fan, flat-screen TV, electric kettle, wardrobe and carpeted floor. Shared bathrooms are basic; a number of the bathrooms have been renovated and were reported as clean by some, while others noted dated fixtures. A shared kitchen with microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle is available for guest use. Bedding is comfortable, and some rooms are described as spacious. Window coverings can be an issue - several reports note broken or missing blinds which can affect sleep during daylight hours. The rooms are basic and practical rather than modern; guests wanting newer finishes may wish to consider that the property is older and in the process of being updated.

The restaurant (open Mon-Thu 12:00-15:00 & 17:00-21:00, Fri-Sat 12:00-21:00, Sun 12:00-20:00) offers American, Australian and BBQ grill dishes in a family-friendly atmosphere. A bar, outdoor seating and evening entertainment are also available. A children's menu is offered, and special diets (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free) can be accommodated on request. Each room booking includes a complimentary drink token for the bar and a coffee/pastry voucher redeemable at a café across the road (one voucher per room per stay). There is no breakfast service on site, but the shared kitchen is available for self-catering. For fuller morning meals, numerous cafés and restaurants are within a short walk in Erskineville and Newtown.

On-site leisure includes billiards (additional charge), free evening entertainment, happy hour, free live sport event broadcasts, and board games/puzzles. The outdoor seating area is usable for casual relaxation. For more active pursuits, kayaking and canoeing are available near the hotel. The surrounding Erskineville and Newtown neighbourhoods provide massage services and entertainment venues such as the Enmore Theatre, but there is no dedicated pool, spa or gym on the property.
