Oracle Park (home of the Giants) is 2 km away, Chase Center is within walking distance, and the Moscone Convention Center is a 10-minute stroll. Public transit is abundant: the Powell Street Muni station, cable cars, and a tram to Chase Center are all nearby. Caltrain is a 6-minute walk, and Union Square is 2 km away. The immediate area offers a variety of restaurants, including Cockscomb, Chavo's Mexican, and Whole Foods Market, all within 0.5 km. The neighborhood is busy day and night, with easy access to major attractions.

Each colourful room includes a flat-screen satellite TV, towels and linens, and parquet flooring. The room type and bed configuration are allocated at check-in; deluxe rooms may offer more space and amenities. A sink is available in some rooms for quick washing. The building is old with single-pane windows that let in street noise and temperature fluctuations. The on-site bar creates additional noise, especially on weekend nights. Light sleepers should plan accordingly. There is no elevator, and rooms on upper floors require stair access. Rooms are non-smoking. While furnishings are dated, the beds are generally comfortable and rooms are cleaned between guests.

The Utah Saloon, located on the ground floor, offers a menu of pub food and a full bar, along with live music several nights a week. Breakfast is not available at the hotel. For other meals, a variety of dining options are within a 5-minute walk: Cockscomb, Chavo's Mexican Restaurant, Alexander's Steakhouse, and Chili Lemon Garlic, as well as Peet's Coffee and Whole Foods Market. The saloon is a popular spot for pre-game drinks and meals before Giants games at Oracle Park.
