The airport bus stop (Lothian 100 Airlink) is under 200 metres away and takes 20 minutes to Edinburgh Airport. Haymarket Rail Station is a 5-minute taxi ride, and Edinburgh International Conference Centre is 10 minutes by car. Within a 300-metre radius there are several eateries, including Subway, Domino's, Costa Coffee, and an Indian restaurant. Free on-site parking makes car access easy, but street parking is limited and paid.

Each room includes a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, tea and coffee, and an en-suite bathroom with free toiletries and hairdryer. Room sizes vary considerably: some are described as very small, with limited storage (only an open hanging rail and no wardrobe), while family rooms and some ground-floor rooms are larger. Ceilings in attic rooms are sloped, which can be problematic for anyone over 5'4". Noise levels depend on location: roadside rooms experience traffic noise, and some rooms near the heat pump or adjoining doors have constant mechanical sounds or footfall from corridors. A fan is provided but there is no air conditioning; rooms can become warm. Cleanliness has been inconsistent; some rooms are well-maintained, others show wear. There is no lift, so rooms may require stairs.

Breakfast is available for an additional charge of £7 per person and includes a full cooked English/Scottish buffet (bacon, eggs, sausages, haggis, toast, cereals, fruit juice, tea, coffee). Quality is variable: some find it good value, while others report dried-out items and limited vegetarian options. The evening carvery offers roast meats, seasonal vegetables, and a children's menu. The restaurant is open Monday to Friday 07:00-21:30 and Saturday-Sunday 08:00-21:30. A bar serves drinks and is open late.
