Set right next to the historic Albert Dock, this hostel places you within a few minutes' walk of Tate Liverpool, the International Slavery Museum, and the Museum of Liverpool. The city centre is roughly 10-15 minutes on foot, with Liverpool Central Rail Station just 1 km away for onward rail connections. A Tesco Express is nearby, and a bus stop close by links to wider Merseyside. The location is quiet enough for rest, yet central enough to reach the ACC conference centre, Anfield (15-minute drive), and Goodison Park (15-minute drive). The secured car park is a practical bonus, though spaces are limited and fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Private rooms range from 3-bed to 6-bed units and often include en-suite shower and separate WC, while shared dorms use either en-suite or external bathroom blocks. All rooms have central heating, lockers (padlock not provided), bed linen, and a smoke alarm. Mirrors and clothes hangers are standard. Cot available on request, and disabled-access rooms are on the ground floor. While many find the rooms spacious and clean, some have noted that 6-bed dorms can feel cramped with full occupancy. Upper floors are accessible by stairs only (no lift). The wooden bunk beds contribute to creaking sounds, and road-facing or upper-floor rooms may experience noise from floorboards. The hostel has no balconies. A fan can be requested at reception if the room is too warm, as window opening is limited to a few inches.

Breakfast is a buffet featuring full English options (sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, beans, tomatoes) alongside continental choices such as fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries, and drinks. Vegetarian and vegan options are clearly available. Breakfast is priced at 11 GBP per person (5.95 GBP for a lighter continental). Children under 10 eat for 1 GBP when purchasing a meal from the main menu. The restaurant menu offers light bites, hearty classics, and desserts - with vegan and vegetarian choices - from 17:00 to 20:00. The licensed bar sells alcohol and soft drinks; bringing your own alcohol is not permitted. For self-caterers, the communal kitchen is fully equipped with two hobs, ovens, microwave, fridge, and cooking utensils, plus a dining room and picnic tables outdoors. Snacks are also available from on-site vending machines.

For downtime, the hostel provides a shared lounge with TV, a library, and a games room with free table tennis and board games/puzzles to borrow. The outdoor area has picnic benches set in a medium-sized garden, popular for relaxing and socialising. Walking tours (self-guided) are available with free maps starting and ending at the hostel. Cycling is possible; bicycle storage is available (ask at reception). The surrounding area offers water activities on the docks, the Awesome Walls Climbing Centre (10-minute drive), and Liverpool's escape room games. Anfield Stadium, the Liverpool Cathedral (360-degree views from the rooftop), and the beach with the 'Another Place' statues are nearby attractions. There is no swimming pool or spa.

Free Wi-Fi is available in both shared social spaces and rooms. The 24-hour front desk provides key-card access, lockers, and luggage storage at no charge (useful for early arrivals or late departures). Laundry service is available for an additional fee. Business travellers can use meeting/banquet facilities (additional charge) and fax/photocopying (additional charge).
