THE DAWSON HOSTEL - DUBLIN, Dublin

The hostel sits on Dawson Street, directly opposite the Mansion House and a 3-minute walk from St Stephen's Green. Grafton Street shops and buskers are just around the corner, Trinity College (Book of Kells) is a 7-minute walk, and Temple Bar's pubs and nightlife are a 15-minute stroll. Dublin Castle and St Patrick's Park are within 10 minutes on foot. The 3Arena is a 30-minute walk or a 20-minute bus ride via Dame Street (line 42). For grocery runs, a Lidl is nearby. The setting places most major attractions and public transport within easy reach without needing a car, though the proximity to clubs on weekend nights means significant street noise.

All rooms are ensuite and include air conditioning, heating, a carpeted floor, and a private bathroom with a shower. Dorms come in 6-, 8-, 10-, 12-, and 20-bed configurations, plus private rooms for 3, 4, or 6 people. Each bunk has a reading light and a USB charger. Under-bed storage cages are available (bring your own padlock). Some rooms on the upper floors are reachable by lift, but the building layout can be confusing - a labyrinth of stairs and corridors connects three old buildings. Road-facing rooms and those over the alley can be very noisy, especially at weekends, due to nearby clubs. The building has no front lift, but a hidden lift operates between the common room and the second and third floors.

The hostel provides a fully equipped guest kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, and multiple hobs, allowing you to prepare your own meals. There is no restaurant or breakfast service. Vending machines offer drinks and snacks. Within a 3-minute walk, you'll find several cafés and restaurants on Dawson Street itself, including Café en Seine, Bunsen, and Milano. Grafton Street's Bewley's Café and other eateries are a few minutes further. The kitchen can get crowded during peak hours, and communal fridges may be full.

The hostel offers a cosy common room with a TV and a table tennis table for social downtime. Pub crawls are available for those wanting to explore Dublin's nightlife with a group. There is no spa, pool, or gym on site. St Stephen's Green park, with its lake and gardens, is a 3-minute walk away for fresh air and relaxation.

The reception is open 24 hours and staff speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out (€5 for 24 hours post-checkout). Daily housekeeping is included. Laundry facilities (self-serve, 09:00-21:00) are available at an additional charge. The property has CCTV, key-card access, safety deposit boxes, and smoke alarms. Parking is not available - the nearest public car park is Q-Park Dawson Street. Bicycle storage is not on site but can be dropped at Drury Street Car Park (5-minute walk).
