Hotel Details

Location

A 5-minute walk from Iriya Subway Station (Hibiya Line) places you in a quiet residential area with easy access to Ueno and Asakusa.
The hostel is within a 15-minute walk of JR Uguisudani Station, and a 20-minute walk reaches Ueno Park and the National Museum of Western Art. A 15-minute bus ride connects to Sensoji Temple and the Asakusa district. Narita International Airport is a 70-minute train journey away, while Haneda International Airport takes about 1 hour by train. The immediate neighbourhood is calm and residential, with convenience stores and a few casual eateries within a 5-10 minute walk. The Metro Hibiya Line from Iriya provides direct links to central Tokyo, Akihabara, and Ueno, making this a practical base for budget travellers prioritising transit connectivity over nightlife.

Accommodation

Compact side-by-side sleeping capsules in large shared rooms; bathrooms and toilets are shared and separated by gender.
Each capsule is fitted with either double mats or traditional futon bedding on tatami mats, plus a memory foam pillow. The capsules are placed side-by-side in large common areas, and the mattresses are thin foam (approximately 2 cm); the bed surface is firm, which some travellers find uncomfortable for more than one or two nights. A thick single blanket is provided, but there is no thinner alternative. Air conditioning is available but temperature control can be uneven; the women's floor is always air conditioned, while other floors may run cold or warm depending on the season. No capsule has a locking door - only the personal locker is lockable. Capsules lack private lighting control; light from neighbouring capsules can be an issue if other sleepers leave their capsule lights on. Ventilation can feel inadequate, leading to stuffiness, especially with many occupants. Earplugs and an eye mask are strongly recommended due to potential noise from other guests and light bleed. Face towels and toothbrushes are provided free of charge; bath towels can be rented for ¥200.

Wellness and Leisure

No spa, pool, gym, or wellness centre is available; a rooftop terrace provides open-air views of the surrounding area.
The rooftop terrace offers a simple outdoor space where guests can see the Tokyo Skytree and surrounding cityscape. The property otherwise has no recreational facilities - no pool, sauna, gym, or massage services. The common room on the 3rd floor is the main social area, though it is described as small and without windows. Coin-operated laundry machines (¥200 per use) are available on the first floor. For leisure, Ueno Park and its museums are a 20-minute walk away, and Sensoji Temple is a short bus ride from the hostel.

Facilities and Services

24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi throughout, large lockers, and luggage storage are the core services; no parking, kitchen, or business centre.
The 24-hour front desk staff are reported to be friendly and capable in English; reception can be contacted by phone if the desk is temporarily unattended. Free Wi-Fi is available across the entire property and performs reliably. Luggage storage is free on check-in day from morning and after check-out until 18:00; it cannot be stored overnight beyond checkout. Each guest receives a large private locker with a key - tall enough for a suitcase and equipped with a hanging bar - located in a locker room separate from the sleeping area. The elevator serves up to the 8th floor; some sleeping areas are on the 9th floor, requiring use of a narrow stairway which can be slippery. Ironing service is free, and laundry (washing machines) is available for ¥200 per load. A vending machine on the ground floor sells essentials. The property is accessible via a lift, but no kitchen, shared refrigerator, or bicycle rental is provided. All reservations must be made online; cash is accepted at check-in.

Top Strategic Tips

  • 01

Arrive with your own soap and shampoo - none are provided in the showers, though face towels and toothbrushes are free.

  • 02

Use the oversized personal locker for all luggage and valuables; it is large enough for a suitcase and includes a hanging bar.

  • 03

Book up to two months in advance as the property often sells out quickly due to its low price.
