This 2-star hotel is set in the lively city centre, 300 m from Leidseplein. Vondelpark is a 5-minute walk away, and Museum Square (Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum, Concert Hall) is 10 minutes on foot. Dam Square and Anne Frank House are within walking distance or a short tram ride. The hotel is 12 minutes by tram from Central Station and about 20 minutes from Schiphol Airport via train. Numerous restaurants, bars, and cafés are within a 5-minute walk. The immediate area includes a club and bar directly across the street, contributing to night-time noise.

Rooms are compact in size, particularly standard doubles and twins, which can feel cramped for two people with luggage. All rooms feature private bathrooms with either a walk-in shower, rain shower, or deep bathtub. Each room includes Auping beds, a flat-screen TV, and basic furnishings such as a wardrobe and desk. There is no air conditioning; each room is provided with a fan. Windows can be opened, but rooms facing the street can be noisy from nearby clubs and bars. A fan is provided. Some rooms are on upper floors (up to 4th floor) accessed only by steep stairs, which is a significant consideration for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. Rooms facing the inner courtyard are generally quieter.

Acostar Hotel does not have an on-site restaurant and currently does not offer breakfast. Free coffee and tea are available from a machine in the lobby from 07:00 until 12:00 daily.
