ALBERGO CHIUSARELLI, Siena

The hotel sits at the edge of the pedestrianised historic area, meaning you can drive right up to the entrance without entering the restricted zone. Piazza del Campo is a 10-minute walk away, and the Fortezza Medicea is even closer. The bus station (Piazza Gramsci) is 3 minutes on foot, with direct services to Florence and the train station. For train station arrivals, a taxi costs about €15 and takes 10-15 minutes, or you can take a city bus to Piazza Gramsci. The area is filled with restaurants and cafes; popular options like Gli Orti di San Domenico and Osteria La Chiacchera are within 300 metres. The football stadium is directly behind the hotel, which can be a source of noise during events.

The hotel offers single, double/twin, triple, quadruple rooms and suites. All rooms include air conditioning, a minibar, a flat-screen TV, and a private bathroom with either a bath or shower. Some rooms have a balcony with garden or city views; others overlook the football stadium park. Bed sizes vary: single rooms have one single bed, double/twin rooms have one large double or two singles, quadruple rooms have three beds, and suites have separate living and sleeping areas. Beds tend to be firm, and pillows are quite flat. Room sizes range from compact singles to spacious family rooms. While some rooms have been recently renovated with modern bathrooms, others retain original features but show signs of wear. Soundproofing is limited - noise from corridors and neighbouring rooms can be heard. No rooms have tea/coffee making facilities.

Breakfast includes breads, pastries, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, hot drinks from automatic machines, and juices. Gluten-free items are available on request. The buffet is self-service and plentiful, though some periods the selection can feel limited. The on-site restaurant, Gli Orti di San Domenico, specialises in Italian, Mediterranean, and local cuisine, with vegetarian dishes and a children's menu. It is open for lunch (12:30-14:30) and dinner (19:30-21:30) Monday to Saturday, and is reserved for hotel guests in the evening. A bar and in-room breakfast are also available. For those who wish to eat out, several popular restaurants are within a short walk.

Wellness facilities are not available on the property. For relaxation, guests can use the outdoor terrace and garden with seating. A cooking class (additional charge) can be organised off-site for those interested in local cuisine. The nearby Fortezza Medicea provides a great spot for a walk or evening view. The hotel's central location means all of Siena's cultural attractions are within easy walking distance.
