ALFIERI9, Florence

The hotel sits on a calm street away from the tourist crowds, yet Florence Cathedral, Santa Croce Basilica, and the Galleria dell'Accademia are all within a 15-minute walk. Piazza Sant'Ambrogio is less than 10 minutes away, and a local park is just 5 minutes from the door. A bus stop 3 minutes away provides an alternative on very hot days, and the tram from the airport reaches the hotel in about 45 minutes by bus and tram. The immediate area has several bars and restaurants within a 5-minute stroll, making it easy to find dinner without heading into the busiest zones. The property lies inside the ZTL (restricted traffic area), which affects car access, but the affiliated garage handles number-plate registration for ZTL entry.

Rooms are available in Classic (2 people), Superior (3 people, with 1 double bed and 1 single bed), and Junior Suite (up to 4 people with 1 double bed and 2 single beds). Each room includes a flat-screen TV, minibar, electric kettle, tea/coffee facilities, ironing equipment, free toiletries, and a hairdryer. The private bathroom has a spacious shower. Room sizes are generally generous, particularly the Junior Suite, and the property offers family rooms. Travel cots can be provided in Classic rooms on request. Blackout curtains help ensure a dark, quiet sleep. Daily housekeeping keeps everything clean and tidy. The property is on the 1st floor of a residential building with no lift, which should be considered when carrying heavy luggage - porter assistance is available.

Breakfast is a highlight, featuring a generous buffet with proteins, pastries, fresh croissants, and a choice of hot drinks including cappuccino and soy cappuccino. Gluten-free options are available on request. The breakfast room uses a large communal table, but smaller tables for two are also available. The hotel also has a coffee house on site and can arrange special diet menus on request. Wine and champagne are offered for an additional charge. For early departures, the staff can prepare a grab-and-go breakfast (e.g., a banana). If breakfast is not included, it costs €12 per person.

The hotel does not operate a wellness centre, swimming pool, or fitness room. The calm residential area and a small park a 5-minute walk away offer a peaceful alternative for a morning walk or afternoon relaxation. The hotel's location also makes it easy to explore the historic centre on foot, with all major attractions reachable within 15-20 minutes.

WiFi is free in all areas. Daily housekeeping is complimentary, while laundry and dry cleaning are available for an extra charge. Luggage storage is free, which is useful for late departures. A paid shuttle service can be arranged, and the staff can book taxis for early flights. The front desk is open until 11:00 pm, after which self-check-in with an entrance code is available. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and key card access. Cots can be provided, and pets are allowed on request (charges may apply). The hotel only provides an invoice on request; there is no business centre or meeting room on site.
