DE PIJP BOUTIQUE HOTEL, Amsterdam

The hotel sits on a main street in De Pijp, Amsterdam's second centre, known for its lively dining, shopping, and bar scene. Albert Cuypmarkt is a 5-minute walk, the Rijksmuseum is 1 km away, and the Heineken Experience is 600 metres from the property. Amsterdam Central Station is 10 minutes away by Metro or Tram (Metro direction Zuid to De Pijp stop, or Tram 4), and Schiphol Airport is 10 km away. The immediate area offers many restaurants, cafés, and bakeries within a short walk. For car users, the city has Park & Ride options at RAI or North Amsterdam; valet service can be arranged directly but involves extra cost. The neighbourhood is safe and walkable, though the central location means some street-facing rooms can experience traffic noise.

Room types range from the 9 m² 'Highlander' single to the 20 m² 'Fantastic Four' quad, with many choices for couples and groups. All rooms include air conditioning, soundproofing, a flat-screen TV with streaming apps, a work desk, a private bathroom with shower (some with bathtub), a hairdryer, and a safe. Every room comes with one modern and one retro console, and a library of games can be borrowed two at a time from reception. Some rooms (mainly family quad rooms) have a balcony, but balcony access cannot be guaranteed unless booked. Room sizes are compact, especially in single or double categories, and are best suited for short stays. Light sleepers should request a rear-facing room, as front-facing rooms on the street and near the lift can be noisy. Daily housekeeping makes the bed and provides fresh towels, but does not always deep-clean.

Breakfast is offered as a pick-up or room-delivery bag between 7:00 and 11:00, containing croissants, jam, fruit, yoghurt, juice, water, and unlimited coffee or tea. The bar serves local beer, local gin, wine, and Dutch and international spirits, along with snacks and comfort food. The bar is open until 00:00 and is part of the ground-floor public space that includes the mini arcade and lounge. Many excellent cafés and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, offering hot breakfast options, brunch, and varied evening dining. The breakfast is a practical grab-and-go option, though some may prefer the wider choice available at nearby eateries.

The hotel's leisure offering is built around gaming culture. The ground floor mini arcade has 25 coin-op machines, and the lobby features retro consoles connected to CRT TVs. A high-end gaming PC room is available for serious play. There is a Secret Garden with an outdoor life-size chess board and board games. An ever-growing comic library with over 2000 titles is also open for browsing. The hotel does not have a pool, spa, or fitness centre. Regular events include Arcade Talks, cosplay hangouts, and live DJ sets on weekends, which are free to enter for hotel guests. These spaces are open to the public from 11:00 to 23:00.
