In Edinburgh's West End, a 20-minute walk from Murrayfield Stadium and a 25-minute walk from the city centre.
The Ardmillan Hotel is situated in a residential area with good transport links. The city centre is reachable on foot in about 25 minutes, or by a frequent bus from the stop directly opposite the hotel. Haymarket station (with tram and rail access to the airport) is a 10-minute walk away. Edinburgh Castle is a 10-minute bus ride, and Edinburgh Airport is approximately a 30-minute drive. The area offers a range of local shops, cafes, and a Lidl supermarket within a few minutes' walk.

Accommodation

Rooms are compact and functional, with some double and twin rooms offering a private ensuite bathroom.
Accommodation ranges from single rooms to double and twin rooms, with options for either a private or shared bathroom. All rooms include a tea and coffee maker, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, free toiletries, and a wardrobe. Rooms vary in size; some are described as very small and basic, while others are noted as being bright and spacious. The single-glazed windows and thin walls mean noise from the bar, street, and neighbouring rooms can be an issue, especially in rooms located above the pub. There is no air conditioning or lift; some rooms are on the first and second floors with narrow stairs. Heated towel racks are available in some bathrooms.

Breakfast is available at an extra cost; the hotel no longer has a restaurant, but a pub on site serves drinks.
A continental breakfast is offered at £7.95 per person, or a full cooked Scottish breakfast at £10.95, both served in the bar area. The property does not have a restaurant. For other meals, the surrounding area has several takeaway and casual dining options within a short walk, including La Zees Piri Piri Chicken, Hanmi, and So Good Chinese And Thai Takeaway. The on-site pub serves wine, champagne, and beer, and has a jukebox, but does not offer cooked food or coffee outside breakfast hours.
