The lodge is within walking distance of downtown Aspen (about 10 minutes), making it easy to reach dining, shopping, and cultural attractions like the Aspen Art Museum and Mill Street Fountain without a car. The free shuttle bus to ski resorts stops close by, and the property is less than 1 km from Independence Pass and 4 km from Aspen-Pitkin County Airport. For those driving, free on-site parking is available. The area is well-suited for walking to many destinations, including Paepcke Park and Exhibition Bookstore.

Rooms are apartment-style with a private bathroom, a kitchenette equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, tea/coffee maker, and toaster, plus a work desk. Many units feature a balcony with mountain views, and select apartments include a private hot tub. The decor is dated, described as '90s ski lodge' style with older furnishings. While rooms are clean, some have experienced maintenance issues such as noisy air conditioning/heating, drafty windows, and dated bathrooms without ventilation fans. For the best experience, request a south-facing balcony room and a top floor to minimise noise from above. The rooms are spacious enough for ski bags and luggage, and luggage storage is available.

A daily continental breakfast is included, featuring fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, granola, toast, and good coffee. Weekend happy hours offer complimentary snacks and drinks, creating a cosy atmosphere around the fireplace. For other meals, a range of restaurants are within a 10-minute walk, including Jacks Restaurant, Hickory House, and Pyramid Bistro. The lodge does not have its own full-service restaurant, but the breakfast and happy hour are well-regarded for their quality and convenience.
