CHRISTIANIA LODGE, Vail

The lodge sits directly behind Gondola One, providing ski-in/ski-out access during winter and immediate hiking access in summer. Vail Village is a 3-minute walk to shops, restaurants on Bridge Street, and the Colorado Ski Museum less than 2 km away. The Ford Amphitheater and Betty Ford Gardens are a 10-minute walk, and Gore Creek walking trails are right across the property. Parking is available off-site for a fee, and public transport (Peak 1 Express shuttle) serves Denver and Eagle County airports with drop-off at the hotel.

The lodge offers rooms with Bavarian-style furnishings, flat-screen TVs, clock radios, telephones, and private bathrooms. Some rooms have balconies or patios overlooking the creek or mountains. Deluxe rooms feature a separating door between sleeping areas. Condos (studios to 7-bedroom) include fully equipped kitchens, fireplaces, and dining nooks. For an alpine ambiance, condos at Villa Valhalla, Texas Townhomes, and other locations offer residential comfort. Note that some rooms in the basement are small and only suitable for light sleepers, as street-facing units can be noisy from late-night traffic.

Breakfast is offered in winter only, served as a hot-plate cooked menu in Sarah's Lounge. It is à la carte with limited choices, not a buffet. The bar in Sarah's Lounge operates only during ski season and features occasional live music, but its availability varies. Throughout the year, there is no full-service restaurant. For other meals, Bridge Street is a 3-minute walk with over a dozen dining options including Sweet Basil, Red Lion, and Terra Bistro.

The outdoor heated pool is open year-round, heated to 32.2 °C in summer and 38.9 °C in winter. The shallow end includes spa jets, making it popular for après-ski muscle recovery. A dry sauna is on-site. The closest spa is Dryland Spa, a full-service therapeutic spa offering massages, facials, and signature treatments. For summer activities, hiking and biking trails start directly from the property, and barbecue facilities are available.

Wi-Fi is free in rooms. Ski storage with boot dryers is available for lodge guests only (not in condos). Business services, concierge, and postcard mailing are offered at the front desk (8:00 AM-10:00 PM). A peak 1 Express shuttle from Denver/Eagle airports can drop off at the hotel. Luggage storage is available at the front desk. Coin-operated laundry and common microwaves are on-site. No airport shuttle service is provided.
