AVID HOTELS CHICAGO O HARE - DES PLAINES BY IHG, Des Plaines

The hotel is a 3-minute drive or short taxi/rideshare from Chicago O'Hare International Airport, making it well suited for flyers. The Allstate Arena is about a 10-minute walk, ideal for concert or event visitors. Several restaurants (IHOP, Subway, Little Angelo's Pizza) and a Target are reachable on foot across the street, offering convenience for meals and shopping. However, the immediate area lacks sidewalks in some spots, so walking to certain outlets may involve crossing busy roads. For downtown Chicago, take public transport or drive; premium parking is available on-site. The hotel's location works best for those with a car or comfortable using rideshares, though the surrounding commercial strip makes basic errands easy without one.

The hotel features double rooms with either one king or two queen beds. All rooms include air conditioning, soundproof walls, a private entrance, and a seating area. The private bathrooms have walk-in showers, hairdryers, and free toiletries. In-room amenities also feature an iron, mini-refrigerator, and an AM/FM alarm clock. Some rooms have parquet or hard floors, which can feel cool underfoot, especially in colder weather. Light sleepers may want a room away from the road, as upstairs foot noise can be audible. Rooms are modern, clean, and minimalist, offering a comfortable overnight stay for airport transit or event visits.

The property features an indoor swimming pool open year-round, offering a reliable option for a swim regardless of season. The fitness centre is free for guests and includes modern equipment. Adjacent to the hotel, there is also a golf course within 3 km for those who enjoy the sport, though at an additional charge. For other leisure, the area offers cycling options off-site. The pool and gym are clean and well-regarded for their practicality, especially for travellers with a few hours to spare before flights.

The hotel offers free WiFi in all areas and free on-site private parking with accessible spaces. The 24-hour front desk provides concierge service, express check-in/out, and luggage storage. A business centre is available at no charge, along with fax/photocopying. Safety features include CCTV, key card access, smoke alarms, and safety deposit boxes. Accessibility amenities include wheelchair-accessible rooms, grab rails, lower bathroom sinks, raised toilets, and visual aids (Braille/tactile signs). Daily housekeeping is provided free of charge. An ATM is located on-site. For convenience, grocery deliveries can be arranged for an additional charge.
