Berlin Hauptbahnhof is 1 km away (15 minutes on foot or one stop by tram). Major sights like Alexanderplatz, Brandenburg Gate, and Museum Island are 20-30 minutes by public transport. The party districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg are about 30 minutes away. The immediate neighbourhood includes a pub and beer garden, though the area near the main station can feel less polished late at night. Walk to the Natural History Museum or Berlin Wall Memorial in under 5 minutes.

The hostel does not serve breakfast to individuals (only to groups of 30+ with a minimum 3-night stay). The ground-floor bar, Alt-Berlin pub, offers a range of drinks including wine and champagne (for a fee) and a welcome drink. Several cafés and restaurants are within a 3-minute walk, serving German, Asian, and French cuisine. The shared kitchen on the 3rd floor is open 24 hours and has a kettle, microwave, and fridge - useful for preparing simple meals, but there is no stove.
