BEST WESTERN DOWNTOWN PHOENIX, Phoenix

The hotel sits 1 km (1 km) from Chase Field and the Phoenix Convention Center, making it a prime choice for baseball games, concerts, and conferences. A variety of restaurants including Bliss ReBAR, Hooters, and Corner Bakery Cafe are within a 5-minute walk. The area is considered safe to walk at night, with other people around during events. For car-free travel, the airport car rental centre is 8 minutes away by car, but the hotel does not offer a shuttle; taxi or ride-sharing is recommended for airport trips and nearby stadiums. Parking on site costs $18 per day, and the lot lacks a reservation system, which can add to the overall expense compared to hotels with free parking.

Rooms are available as double (1 bed), quadruple (2 beds), and suite (3 beds) configurations, all with air conditioning, tea/coffee maker, flat-screen cable TV, ironing facilities, hair dryer, and a work desk. The bathrooms are en suite and come with toiletries; the room size is generally described as spacious. While bedding and pillows are frequently praised as comfortable, the overall decor and fixtures are dated-some rooms show cracked grout, stained carpets, and rusted fixtures. Late-night traffic noise from the street can be an issue on lower floors, and a lingering musty or smoke smell has been noted in hallways of the third floor. The hotel is also described as being a bit tired and in need of renovation. For light sleepers, a room away from the street and basketball court is recommended. There are no balconies.

Breakfast is included for all guests and served Monday through Friday 6:00-9:30 AM, weekends 7:00-10:00 AM. The spread typically includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, Belgian waffles, toast, bagels, juice, and milk, plus gluten-free options and breakfast-to-go bags. The quality is described as decent and better than some other hotels, though some find the eggs are powdered. Coffee is available in the lobby 24/7, and the hotel also has a minimart on site. There is no restaurant or bar for lunch or dinner, but a wide range of restaurants (Bliss ReBAR, Hooters, Corner Bakery Cafe, and several others) are within a 5-minute walk.

The heated saltwater pool is open year-round from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with sun loungers and towels provided. A hot tub/jacuzzi is also available. The fitness centre has a treadmill, stationary bike, and weights. An outdoor basketball court is present, though the hoop is low and not adjustable, and the court can be noisy for nearby rooms. A picnic area with outdoor furniture and a sun terrace complete the outdoor leisure options.

Wi-Fi is free in all rooms but can be slow and unsecured in some areas. The 24-hour front desk can assist with taxi bookings and luggage storage. A business centre with fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities is available (meetings at an additional charge). Daily housekeeping is free but must be requested. Laundry and dry cleaning are available for a fee. The property has lift access, wheelchair-accessible rooms and parking, and visual aids (Braille), but guests requiring assistance with mobility should note that the accessible parking space is at the front and there is a tub step in some rooms. The hotel is non-smoking throughout, with a designated smoking area outside. No pets are allowed (only service animals). Safety features include CCTV, key card access, and safety deposit boxes.
