The historic centre, including Via dell'Indipendenza (700 metres) and Piazza Maggiore, is a 15- to 20-minute walk along the porticoes. The street itself can feel less reassuring at night; the walk from the station is well-trodden but the building entrance is not always obvious. Parking is on-site for €15 per day, which is practical for a short city visit.

Accommodation options include double, triple, and family rooms (with 2 or 4 beds). What you see in the photos is not always what you get - some rooms are smaller and fitted with older, worn furniture and rusty bunk beds. Road-facing and courtyard-facing rooms can be noisy; internal noise from adjacent rooms and upper floors is also common. The mattress and pillows on some beds are reported as uncomfortable. Room cleaning is done daily. A kettle with tea is provided, but no fridge or coffee supplies. The bathroom is functional; the toilet can make a loud refilling noise that disturbs sleep. The room can feel cold on arrival; the air conditioning unit serves as a heater.

The surrounding streets offer many dining options within a 300-metre walk, including Dispensa Emilia, a KFC, pizzerias, and a Chinese restaurant.
