HOTEL CARDINAL OF FLORENCE - RECOMMENDED FOR AGES 25 TO 55, Florence

The hotel sits on a central street lined with restaurants (Mesopotamia, Natalino, Cantina Barbagianni, Antico Noe and more all within 0.5 km). The area is lively until late due to a nearby bar popular with younger crowds, which can cause street noise at night - windows are not fully soundproofed. The main train station Santa Maria Novella is a 15-minute walk; the C2 bus from the station stops at P.zza Salvemini one minute away. The closest bus stop is Piazzale Montelungo. For airport transfers, the express train from Florence airport to the station is straightforward, and taxis are available. Parking is off-site (partner garage 80-100 m, €25/24h).

Room categories include Single, Double and Double Comfort, with some Superior rooms and a few rooms with balconies or panoramic views of Brunelleschi's Dome. Bathrooms are private, with shower or bath, bidet and hairdryer. Room sizes vary - some are described as small with limited storage; others are more spacious. The building's historic character means walls are thin and soundproofing is minimal: neighbouring conversations and late-night noise from the street can be audible (earplugs are provided). Air conditioning units can be noisy; older units may produce a musty smell. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels. Some rooms face an internal courtyard and are quieter.

The hotel does not offer a served breakfast or operate a restaurant or bar. Instead, a complimentary tea room is available around the clock, providing vending machines for coffee, cappuccino, tea, juices and water, plus packaged biscuits and croissants. Guests are welcome to buy food outside and bring it to the rooftop terrace. The surrounding streets contain numerous restaurants (e.g. Ristorante Pizzeria I Ghibellini, Trattoria San Pierino) within a 2-3-minute walk.

The hotel does not operate its own spa, gym, pool or wellness centre. A partner spa located nearby offers treatments such as massage, manicures, pedicures and body treatments at an additional cost. The primary leisure facility on site is the rooftop terrace, open daily 08:00-22:30, with 360-degree views of Florence's skyline - a popular spot for guests to relax with a drink or snack.
