HOTEL CASTELLANO CENTRO, Salamanca

The hotel is set in central Salamanca, a 10-minute walk from Plaza Mayor and a 20-minute walk from the historic centre. Alamedilla Park and Plaza de España are within easy reach. The train station is about 15 minutes away on foot. The area is well-served by bars and restaurants, including Domino's Pizza (0.5 km) and El Bardo (0.5 km), plus several tapas bars and cafes. Guests arriving by car may find the hotel's location slightly tricky as it is set back from the main street inside a courtyard. On-street parking fills quickly, so arriving early is recommended. For those arriving by train, the walk is straightforward and about 1 km.

Each room offers a private bathroom with bath, shower and bidet, plus free toiletries. Rooms include a seating area, dining area, flat-screen TV, safe, heating and a fan. Some rooms have a patio. The furniture and décor are dated, with older-style fittings and decor giving a 1990s feel. Rooms facing the inner courtyard tend to be quieter, while those on the street side can hear traffic. Noise between rooms is significant - normal conversation and corridor activity can be heard clearly through thin walls. Mattresses vary: some are comfortable, others are hard or have sagging springs. Pillows are noted as flat or uncomfortable in many rooms. The lack of air conditioning is notable in summer; the provided fan helps but may not be sufficient during heatwaves. Rooms on the ground floor can have windows onto a shared area with limited privacy. Larger rooms offer ample space, making them suitable for a stopover or short stay. Some rooms are located on a mezzanine or lower floor with limited natural light. Bicycle storage is available at street level on one side of the building.

Breakfast is a continental buffet served in the dining room, costing €6 per person. The offering includes packaged pastries, bread rolls, jam, butter, cheese, ham, coffee, tea, milk and orange juice. Breakfast is functional but limited - items are mostly pre-packaged and there is no hot food. For evening meals, there is no restaurant, but many bars and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, offering a variety of Spanish and international options. Nearby choices include Domino's Pizza (0.5 km), El Bardo (0.5 km), Burguer y Tapas (0.5 km) and Abacanto (0.5 km). The breakfast room is open in the morning only; guests looking for a more substantial meal may prefer to eat out.

Free Wi-Fi is available in rooms. The 24-hour front desk allows late check-in and early check-out. Luggage storage is free. A tour desk and concierge service are available. The property has a vending machine for drinks and a shared lounge/TV area. Parking is on-site: a closed garage with electric vehicle charging (Type 2 plug). Parking costs €10 per day Friday through Sunday and is free Monday to Thursday. Spaces cannot be reserved and availability is limited; arriving early is strongly advised. Secure bicycle storage is offered in a locked room off the garage. Daily housekeeping is included. No elevator, but staff can assist with luggage. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and key card access. The hotel is non-smoking throughout. Accepted payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and Red 6000.
