CATALONIA MIKADO, Barcelona

The hotel sits in a calm, safe neighbourhood with tree-lined streets, about 10 minutes' walk from Sarrià train station (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat). Trains from Sarrià reach Plaça de Catalunya in roughly 5 minutes, making city-centre sightseeing easily accessible despite the hotel's distance from the main tourist zone. A bus stop is located directly outside the hotel, and the area is well supplied with supermarkets, cafés, pharmacies, and banks within a short walk. The hotel is within a 10-minute walk of the Teknon Medical Centre, IMO, and the Institut Català de la Retina, making it especially convenient for hospital visits. The cruise port is approximately 40-50 minutes away by public transport or 20-25 minutes by taxi; the airport transfer takes about 30-35 minutes by car. The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle service.

Breakfast is served as a generous buffet with hot items, cold cuts, pastries, fruit, and clearly labelled vegan and gluten-free options; many travellers find it well worth the extra cost. The gastrobar offers an informal space for lunch, dinner, or a drink, with a menu covering meat, fish, pasta, snacks, and creative cocktails. Room service is available daily from 12:00 to 22:00, with Mediterranean dishes including pizza, pasta, and vegetarian options. The restaurant is open for dinner Monday to Thursday from 20:00 to 22:30, with possibly altered hours at weekends. Being in a residential area, nearby dining options within a 5-10 minute walk include El Trapio Restaurante, La Terrassa de Bonanova, Restaurante Sehari, and several others.

The outdoor pool and hot tub are located on a sun terrace with a few loungers, but both are not heated and are typically closed outside the summer season (opening hours from 10:00 to 20:00). The pool is compact - suited for a quick dip rather than serious swimming. The solarium area has limited seating, and there is no bar or towel service by the pool. The hotel also features a small fitness centre, useful for maintaining a workout routine during your stay. No spa or wellness centre is available.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Parking is available on-site (no reservation possible) for €21 per day, and the space is tight; electric vehicle semi-fast charging is available (check rates). A 24-hour front desk can arrange taxi bookings, car rental, and provide local advice. Luggage storage is offered before check-in and after check-out, which is useful for late flights. Daily housekeeping changes towels and makes beds. Laundry and dry-cleaning services are available. The property has two lifts and is accessible for guests with disabilities. Pets are allowed on request (max one per room, €22/night). Families can request a free crib; extra beds are available on request with additional charges.
