The beach is a 3-4 minute walk, putting the sand and ocean literally at your doorstep. Lincoln Road Mall, with its shopping and dining, is a 6-minute drive, and dozens of restaurants and bars along Ocean Drive are within a 5-minute walk. The South Florida Art Center is 2 km away. For car-free exploration, the central location makes it easy to walk to the area's nightlife and attractions. A public parking garage is about a 3-minute walk away, and metered street parking is available but limited and often expensive, especially during holidays.

Standard double rooms are compact and basic, while larger suites offer more space, separate living areas, and some include a jetted tub or a sofa bed. Some suites have 2 bedrooms, making them suitable for families or groups. Rooms in the Lily building are noted as particularly spacious and quiet, while those facing Collins Avenue or near the lobby bar are exposed to street noise and the on-site bar music, which can be loud until late. Rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV, a mini fridge, ironing facilities, and a safety deposit box. City views are possible in some rooms upon request but are not guaranteed. All rooms have a private bathroom, most with a walk-in shower; some lack a full-length mirror. The standard room does not have a balcony or patio, but the Junior Suite has a common outdoor area.

The Chesterfield Hotel Bar serves cocktails and drinks, and a free happy hour is available at the bar (located at a sister property, The Catalina Hotel). The hotel bar also sells wine and champagne for an additional charge. For meals, there is no restaurant on site, so you will need to dine out. There is no pool, spa, or gym at the property. The main wellness amenity is the proximity to South Beach, which is about a 4-minute walk and offers free public access. Beach towels are available to borrow. A small rooftop sundeck is available for use, though the bamboo pool is closed. For a pool, guests have been directed to a sister property up the street.
