The hotel sits on a relatively quiet street yet is exceptionally well-connected: Pimlico tube station is at the end of the road, and bus stops are practically outside the entrance, giving direct access across London. Victoria Station, with connections to Gatwick Airport and central rail lines, is about a 15-minute walk. Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square are within 2 km. A variety of restaurants - including an Italian place around the corner - and shops for snacks are within a few minutes' walk. The hotel entrance has a few steps; no lift is available, making the building less suitable for those with mobility concerns.

Rooms are very basic: typically carpeted floors, an electric kettle with tea and coffee, a flat-screen TV that is often not connected or missing a remote, and a hanging rail instead of a wardrobe. Some rooms have no window, and basement rooms may be windowless or open onto a lightwell. Air conditioning is not available; heating comes from plug-in radiators that may malfunction. Noise travels easily through thin walls and creaking floors, and road-facing rooms may be disturbed by outside noise. A Italian restaurant is just around the corner, and additional options including Thai, Turkish, and pubs are within 0.5 km. Shops at the bottom of the road sell snacks and drinks. For those wanting a cooked breakfast or a full meal, planning to eat out is essential.

The reception is officially 24-hour, but staff are often absent from the desk, especially late at night, requiring a wait for entry or key collection. Keys must be handed in each time you leave. Wi-Fi is paid and has been reported as intermittent and slow. Daily housekeeping is not guaranteed: it only happens if you leave your key at reception. Towels and toilet paper are not automatically replenished and must be requested. Luggage storage is not free (a £5 fee has been charged) and is unsecured in the public lobby. There is no lift, and the stairs are steep, with a wobbly banister in some areas.
