COUNTRY INN & SUITES BY RADISSON, ROCHESTER-PITTSFORD-BRIGHTON, NY, Rochester

The hotel sits on Monroe Avenue near the intersection of 590, providing straightforward access to the highway without significant road noise. Downtown Rochester, the Riverside Convention Center (10 km), and the Greater Rochester International Airport (12 km) are a short drive away. Within a 5-minute walk you will find Starbucks, Salvatore's Pizzeria, Basha Mediterranean Eatery, Mamasan's, and Bruegger's Bagels. Monroe's restaurant with a patio is 1 km away, and over 10-12 restaurant choices are within 2 km. A Wegmans grocery store and Whole Foods are also nearby. For those with a car, leaving the property left onto Monroe Avenue toward 590 can be difficult in the morning; turning right and using a traffic light to reverse direction is a practical workaround.

Rooms are air-conditioned and feature a flat-screen TV, a work desk, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, and an armchair in king-bed rooms. Each room includes a microwave and a mini-refrigerator. Suites (six one-bedroom units) add a separate seating area or living room with a convertible sofa bed, a dining area, and a second TV, making them a strong choice for families. All private bathrooms have a walk-in shower with glass barn-style doors, but no bathtubs. The property has two buildings: the main building with a lift, and the Lodge building with no elevator - rooms here are on the second floor with only stairs. Rooms in the Lodge are larger, but the walk across the parking lot to the lobby for breakfast can be inconvenient in bad weather. Floor creaking and poor sound insulation between floors can be an issue, and some units have a noisy A/C unit. The property is older and shows wear - dated furniture, carpets that are visibly tired, and some rooms have reported cleanliness issues such as dust and mold behind A/C units. Bed firmness varies: some find the mattresses firm and uncomfortable, while others report comfortable sleep. For light sleepers, requesting a top-floor room in the main building is advisable.

Breakfast is included and runs 6:00-9:30 on weekdays, 7:00-10:30 on weekends. It offers microwaved hot items (sandwiches, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes), wrapped pastries (Danish, muffins, breakfast bars), cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, and tea. The selection is widely appreciated for its variety, though some visitors find breakfast foods are occasionally served cold. There is no on-site restaurant, but a partnership with a restaurant next door allows ordering from menus left in each room, with delivery to the room available. Over a dozen other restaurants are within 2 km, including Monroe's, The Speakeasy at Monroe's, Salvatore's Pizzeria, and The Burger Bar by Wegmans. The lobby provides 24/7 complimentary fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cookies, coffee, tea, and other refreshments, which is especially useful for families.

The hotel offers a fitness centre for guest use at no extra charge. There is no swimming pool or spa. For outdoor leisure, the property features an outdoor fireplace and furniture, which staff will light in the evening, providing a pleasant gathering spot. Oak Hill Country Club is 5 km away. Shoppers will find a Wegmans and Whole Foods within 2 km, as well as numerous other stores.
