The hotel sits directly on Keawakapu Beach, one of Maui's nicest sandy beaches, with no road to cross to reach the water. Kahului Airport (OGG) is about a 35-minute drive (25 km); there is no airport shuttle. Wailea Golf Club is a 40-minute drive away. A bus stop is located right across the street, providing access to Kihei's shops and restaurants and Wailea. Two waterfront restaurants - Sarento's on the property and Five Palms next door - are within walking distance. A general store is adjacent for basic supplies. The location is ideal for those prioritizing beach time and sunset walks, though a car is recommended for reaching a wider variety of dining and attractions.

All rooms are non-smoking, air-conditioned, and include a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a microwave, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, a private bathroom with a hairdryer, ironing facilities, and daily maid service. Rooms are approximately 250 sq. ft. and set back from the beach, shaded and quiet. Superior Queen rooms offer partial ocean views; standard rooms face the garden or adjacent buildings. Some rooms have a balcony. Rooms are designed for couples or solo travelers - there are no rooms with two double beds. The property has no elevator. Rooms are compact but consistently described as spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and good water pressure in the shower.

The hotel's on-site restaurant, Sarento's on the Beach, offers award-winning oceanfront dining with homemade pasta, steaks, seafood, and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, serving breakfast and dinner daily. A complimentary light continental breakfast is available from 6:00 to 10:00 in the lobby, consisting of fruit, a breakfast bar, coffee, tea, and juice. For other meals, two waterfront restaurants are adjacent (Sarento's and Five Palms), and a variety of restaurants are within a short drive in Kihei, including Kihei Caffe and Three's Bar & Grill. The hotel provides direct, steps-away access to Keawakapu Beach, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling - the area is known for excellent snorkeling right off the shore. Beach chairs and towels are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A fitness centre is on site and free for all guests. There is no swimming pool or spa on the property. The surrounding area offers golf at Wailea Golf Club (40 minutes' drive) and opportunities for whale watching in winter.
