The location is one of the most central in Amsterdam, with Stationsplein (300 metres) offering tram and bus services across the city. Dam Square and the Kalverstraat shopping area are under a 10-minute walk, and Nemo Science Museum is 15 minutes away. The immediate area is extremely busy day and night, with bars, restaurants, and a party atmosphere on the street. A Spar supermarket is next door, and dozens of restaurants are within a 5-minute walk. Rooms at the back of the hotel are significantly quieter than those facing the street.

Accommodation types range from single and double rooms to triple rooms and a split-level apartment for up to six people. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower (some with bath), free toiletries, and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The apartment has two bedrooms on an upper level, plus a living room with kitchenette - suitable for families but accessed by very steep stairs. Standard rooms are described as small and basic; some have poor natural light, no view, or are interior rooms without windows. Many rooms face the busy street and original windows let in substantial noise - rear-facing rooms are quieter. There is no air conditioning, and opening windows can let in street noise. Heating is available, though some rooms have been noted as stuffy. Hairdryers are available from reception upon request.

Breakfast is a continental buffet with bread, cheese, ham, jam, fruit, yoghurt, juice, tea, and coffee from a machine. It is included in the room rate for all reservations. The breakfast room is open for several hours each morning. While the selection is basic, it is sufficient to start the day. For lunch and dinner, dozens of restaurants are within a 300-metre walk, including Burger Bar, PANCAKES Amsterdam Centraal, and several Thai, Chinese, and Italian options.
