The location is a major asset for exploring Rome on foot. Roma Termini station, with high-speed trains, metro lines A and B, and the Leonardo Express to Fiumicino Airport, is 5-10 minutes away. The Colosseum is a 10-15 minute walk, Trevi Fountain about 20 minutes, and the Roman Forum and Spanish Steps are also within comfortable walking distance. The immediate Monti neighbourhood is filled with authentic restaurants, cafés, and shops, and a supermarket is nearby. The Cavour metro station (line B) is a 5-minute walk. The hotel is on a busy piazza, but the area feels safe day and night. Hop-on hop-off bus stops are also very close.

Rooms at Princeps are generally described as compact but well-designed; larger apartments with separate living areas and kitchens are also available. Many rooms offer direct views of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore or the piazza. All accommodations include soundproofing, free WiFi, a minibar, air conditioning, a safe, and a hairdryer. Some rooms have walk-in showers, while others have a bathtub with shower. A free minibar with soft drinks is provided on the first night, and an iPad or laptop is available on request. Rooms facing the piazza may experience street noise, but the soundproofing is effective with windows closed. Courtyard-side rooms are very quiet. Bed sizes are standard European double or queen; taller travellers may find the beds slightly short. The wall between rooms is not fully soundproof, but floors are quiet.

The breakfast is served as a buffet in a bright, well-maintained breakfast room from 7:30 to 10:30. The selection is extensive: eggs, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, croissants, cakes, and gluten-free options are available on request. In-room breakfast is also an option. The breakfast room doubles as a lounge area with a self-service machine offering espresso, cappuccino, tea, and hot chocolate all day, alongside a water dispenser with still and sparkling water and sometimes pastries or snacks. This amenity is very popular for a quick refresh between sightseeing. There is no on-site restaurant, bar or dinner service, but the Monti district is filled with excellent trattorias and pizzerias within a 2-5 minute walk.

Princeps Boutique Hotel does not offer wellness or leisure facilities. The entire property is dedicated to 20 elegantly appointed rooms on one floor. Bicycle rental is available for an additional charge, providing a pleasant way to explore the Monti district and the city's archaeological heart. For all other leisure needs, the hotel's central location places guests steps from Rome's main attractions and parks.
