DOUBLETREE BY HILTON LONG ISLAND CITY, NY, New York

Situated in Long Island City, the hotel provides swift access to Midtown Manhattan via the nearby F line subway, without transfers. The immediate surroundings are an industrial area near a power plant, and the walk to the station passes through a neighbourhood with a rougher feel, especially after dark. LaGuardia Airport is 7 km away; the Manhattan Cruise Terminal is a 20-25-minute drive. Several quick-service and international restaurants (Dominican, Chinese, Indian, pizza) are within 0.5 km, and Sushi Saint, R40, and Da Long Yi are nearby. Queensbridge Park and Astoria Park are also close.

Each room includes a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, free toiletries, an alarm clock, and ironing facilities. The room size can be tight for two, especially when opening large suitcases; the desk may lack a chair or space for luggage stands. Bedding configurations include double rooms (1 bed, up to 4 people max) and quadruple rooms (2 beds). Some rooms have connecting doors that reduce sound privacy. Road-facing rooms can be noisy due to thin windows, and interior noise from hallways or adjacent rooms is a recurring point. Heating and air conditioning reliability has been inconsistent in the past. Window blinds may not fully darken the room. A small fridge and microwave are not standard.

The free breakfast includes coffee, croissants, pastries, and occasionally fruit. Supply can run low during peak times, so arriving earlier within the window is advisable. The lobby dining area also has water available all day. For a fuller meal, the hotel has no restaurant or bar service, but vending machines are located on the main level. Numerous dining choices exist within a short walk, including pizzeria, Greek, Italian, and Dominican options, and the area is well served by food delivery services.

The fitness centre provides equipment for a basic workout and is accessible around the clock. No pool, spa, or sauna is present on site. An ice-skating rink is located nearby for seasonal leisure. The neighbourhood's industrial character means on-site leisure is limited to the gym.
