HOTEL DWARS, Amsterdam

The hotel is about a 2-minute walk from the Prinsengracht tram stop (line 4) and a 10-minute walk from the Waterlooplein or Weesperplein metro stations. Museumplein (with Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum) is 1 km away, Dam Square is 1 km, and Amsterdam Central Station is 2 km. Setting out on foot, the city centre, De Pijp, and the theatre district (Carré) are all within a 10- to 20-minute walk. The street itself feels safe and less touristy than the busiest canals, with many local bars and restaurants nearby.

Each room includes a private bathroom with a rain shower and hairdryer, air conditioning that can also function as a fan, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Triple and quadruple rooms can be tight when used at full capacity, especially for longer stays, but the layout is generally well-organised. Some rooms have windows that open for fresh air. Road-facing rooms can get street noise, though the street is relatively quiet at night. The upper floors offer exposed beams and good light. No rooms have a balcony or a private fridge, but a shared fridge is available downstairs. The quadruple room consists of two adjoining rooms with a small central hallway and the bathroom.

There is no restaurant or bar at Hotel Dwars, and no breakfast is offered. The immediate surroundings on Utrechtsestraat and side streets contain many dining options, including Italian, Cuban, and specialty eateries, all within a few minutes' walk. A popular bagel and coffee shop (Flo's Deli) is directly across the street, and several other cafés are nearby. Wine and champagne may be available for an additional charge.

The hotel does not offer any wellness or leisure amenities. The focus is on a convenient city-break location, with museums, parks, and the theatre district all within walking distance.

Internet access is free and available in all areas. Luggage storage is offered free of charge before check-in (from 09:00) and after checkout. The 24-hour front desk is staffed part of the day; outside those hours, secure self-check-in via a key fob and a lockbox is provided. Daily housekeeping is included, though some users have noted it may be minimal. The hotel has no lift, so access to upper floors is via a steep, narrow staircase. Family rooms with connecting options (a double plus a triple room on the same floor) can be arranged. Bicycles cannot be stored securely or in the room.
