For those attending events, the 3Arena is a short walk across the river and Bord Gais Energy Theatre is 300m away. Many restaurants, cafés, and a supermarket are within a few minutes' walk on Hanover Quay. While central, it is a little removed from the main tourist hubs. A taxi is a practical option for reaching more distant attractions, and the area is well served by tram stops on the other side of the Liffey.

All rooms are located on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th floor (no lift). Double, twin, and triple rooms are available, each featuring a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries (shampoo, body wash, hand soap). Rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee maker, safe, and heating. Room sizes are generally described as spacious or decent, with some offering lovely river views from the front; these front-facing rooms may hear pub noise with windows open. There is no air conditioning, so rooms can become warm in summer, and windows may need to be opened. Daily housekeeping is free, but some reports note that towels were replaced without a full room clean.

The lively ground-floor pub serves a range of beers (including its own stout) and has a traditional Irish atmosphere with locals and visitors.
